Perform a firmware update using the ICU Connect Back office

Overview
This step-by-step guide will help you updating the firmware of an Alfen charger by using the ICU Connect back office.

The firmware of a charger that is connected to the ICU Connect back office can be updated remotely.
Firmware can only be updated to firmware versions that are available in the database of ICU Connect.
It is not possible to use ICU Connect to upload firmware from a local file on your computer.

Step by step instruction
  1. Locate your charger in the ICU Connect Back office.

  2. On the frontpage, click the 'Update Firmware' button.

  3. A pop-up screen opens, select the firmware version you want to update to.

  4. Optionally enter a future date you want to install the firmware.

  5. Click the ‘Send’ button to transfer the firmware to the charging station.

After the firmware file has successfully been received by the charger and the date of installation is reached, the firmware will install when no charging session is active.

During installation of the firmware charging is not possible and Error 206 ‘Unavailable’ may be displayed.

After installation is complete, the charger will reboot and should be available and using the installed version of the firmware.

Please check ‘Which firmware update do you need?’ in case you need more information or run into issues.
