Firmware release 2.3.0 is a release that incorporates a number of general improvements, stability improvements, bug fixes and some main features. The main new features are:
- Eve Single Plus support;
- Eve Double Plus support;
- Cross platform SCN support.
Please note that 2.2.0 was an internal validation release for our Eve Single Plus and Eve Double Plus products and therefore not distributed.
All new features, bugfixes and improvements of firmware 2.2.0 are also listed in this release note.
Eve Single Plus and Eve Double Plus support
With the introduction of the Eve Single Plus and Eve Double Plus, the firmware is supporting specific functionalities for these products such as 3.5” display support, Eichrecht implementation, fixed cable support, and 6mA RDC-DD functionality.
Firmware file size reduction
The image file size for the firmware update is reduced from ~75Mb to ~41Mb, reducing the download time and data costs up to 45%.
Bug fixes
- Fixed an issue where a tag was not recognized as the tag belonging to a reservation.
- Fixed the modbus RTU time delay issues.
- Fixed multiple authorization issues related to RFID and socket available for charging.
- Fixed French translation errors.
- Fixed an issue where the charge bar showed erratic behaviour and incorrect data when switching between charging sessions or restarting a charging session.
- Fixed incorrect “temperature low” error code.
- Fixed an issue where Standard load balancing was disabled while the station max current was lower than the sum of the combined socket max currents without logging an error.
- Fixed limit in charging plan of a RemoteStartTransaction not being correctly applied to the specified connector id.
- Fixed an issue where a time update with +10 seconds or more could pause a charging session for a couple of seconds then resume when Standard load balancing is enabled.
- Fixed an issue that prevented the 104 Internal Voltage error from being reported.
- Fixed an issue where the charging plan start time was not being taken into account when selecting the first entry of the plan to be used. This causes the first entry of the plan to always be used, leading to incorrect applied limits.
- Fixed an issue where a stop transaction in a socket error state could be triggered without a corresponding start transaction.
- Fixed an issue where, when using charging profiles, the current offered could be incorrect.
- Fixed an issue with back office presets working slower than expected.
- Fixed an issue with some EV models were connecting the cable first before presenting the tag may result in charging not being possible upon establishing ISO15118 communication.
- Fixed an issue where OCPP1.6 stopTransactionMessage was not sent when a charging session got stopped by EV while using ISO15118 communication.
- Fixed an issue where station, which is configured for stopping the transaction and unlocking the cable when EV is disconnected, could remain in authorised state when tag was swiped after a transaction was ended by unplugging the EV on a station.
Improvements
- Improvements on error code implementations and information to user and CPMS.
- Autocharge detection and exclusion list improvements.
- Increased whitelist / authorization-cache database size to 1200 tokens.
- Increased transaction database size to at least 1500 transactions.
- OCPP 1.6 status notification improved on over-voltage.
- Changed the LED UI behaviour when a cable is not removed from the socket for more than 5 minutes after a charging session to blink red.
- Display shows more information on used authorization method and outcome of authorization.
- EV Contract certificates can now be installed via the EVSE (OCPP 2.0.1 – M1 use case).
- Added small progress bar to display the progress of steps prior to charging.
- NFC LED showing a heartbeat for Eve Single Plus and Eve Double Plus, green when tag is approved and red blinking when invalid. NFC LED will be off when reader is not available. NFC LED will flash during boot to indicate power on.
- Improved logging and diagnostics on parsing, password errors, backoffice communication, charging session manager, configuration manager, firmware update manager, and mobile connectivity signal strength.
- Prevent future SecurityEventNotification spam on OCPP1.6 and OCPP2.0.1.
- LightIntensity and AutoDim is now configurable over OCPP 2.0.1 and can be set based on time, activity or QR and will be set to 80% brightness as standard (changeable over OCPP and with Alfen Service Installer).
- Reduced firmware update time.
- Logo sizing is improved, together with shown QR codes.
- Updated charge bar layout to match rest of UI.
- Improve system time recovery in case hardware clock has lost the time, for example if the charger was powered down for too long.
- Lock motor error detection during boot added with error code 211.
- Improved handling of IPv6 addresses for FirmwareUpdate and GetDiagnostics requests via the back office.
- Cyber security improvements.
- Improve readability of charging station diagnostics logging by eliminating corner case where specific SCN related log lines got repeated.
