Step-by-Step: Changing the Back Office Configuration

Preparation (if using a SIM card)

  1. Power off the charger.
  2. Insert the SIM card provided by your new back office provider into the SIM slot on the control board.
  3. Power the charger back on.

Set the Back Office Preset

  1. Go to the ‘Connectivity’ tab.
  2. Open the ‘Back Office Preset’ list.
  3. Select ‘Stand-alone’ and restart the charger.

Configure Network Profiles

  1. Return to the ‘Connectivity’ tab.
  2. Set the ‘Network profile connection attempts’ value and click ‘Save’.
  3. Open ‘Network Profile 1’ and set the priority (1, 2, or ‘Not used’).
  4. Repeat for other profiles.
  5. If using a mobile connection, configure the ‘Mobile’ tab.
  6. Click ‘Save’ and restart the charger.

Verify the Connection

  1. Go to ‘Live Monitoring’.
  2. Check if the ‘OCPP Boot Notification State’ shows ‘ACCEPTED’.

 

Manual Configuration (if preset is not available)

  1. In the ‘Back Office Preset’ dropdown, select ‘Manually enter backend settings’.
  2. Under the appropriate network profile, enter:
    • Protocol: OCPP 1.6
    • Server domain and port
    • Back office path
    • Security profile level
    • APN name, user, password
    • SIM PIN (if applicable)
  3. Configure the ‘Mobile’ tab if needed.
  4. Click ‘Save’ and restart the charger.
  5. Check the connection in ‘Live Monitoring’.

 

Installing a Root Certificate (for WSS/HTTPS)

  1. In the ACE Service Installer, go to the ‘General’ tab and click ‘Upload Firmware’.
  2. Select the file Rootcertificate.fwi.
  3. Click ‘Start Upload’.
  4. Wait for the upload to complete and reboot the charger.
  5. Check the connection in ‘Live Monitoring’.

 

Switching to Stand-alone Mode

  1. Power off the charger and remove the SIM card.
  2. Power the charger back on and select ‘Stand-alone’ in the ‘Back Office Preset’ list.
  3. In the ACE Service Installer:
    • Go to ‘Authorization’ > set ‘Offline action’.
    • Set ‘Authorization Mode’ to RFID or Plug & Charge.
    • If using Plug & Charge, enter the Plug & Charge ID (e.g., ACExxx).
  4. Reboot the charger.

What does ‘TLS error: Handshake missing’ mean?

This indicates a missing root certificate. Install it as described above.

Contact your back office provider. These errors cannot be resolved from the charger side.
