This article explains how to reset and securely store passwords for charging stations using the ACE Service Installer.
Important Notice:
- Properly store your new password after changing it. Failure to save the chosen password securely can result in the charging station becoming ‘bricked’. In such cases, the only solution is to replace the controller board, which involves additional costs.
- Always store the password securely to avoid complications.
Prerequisites:
- Use the ACE Service Installer program version 3.5.1 or higher.
Ensure your version is up to date or download the latest version from the ACE Service Installer pages.
Locate the Password Recovery Code (PRC):
- The PRC is available only for chargers produced after December 2021.
- Check the flyer/tag supplied with the charger for the PRC.
Steps to Reset the Password:
- Open the ACE Service Installer:
- Launch the application.
- A login pop-up will appear.
- Log in to the ACE Service Installer.
- Click on the charger in the menu on the left of the screen.
- A login pop-up will appear.
- Click on ‘Forgot password’
- Locate the Password Recovery Code (PRC):
- A pop-up will explain where to find the PRC.
- The PRC is available only for chargers produced after December 2021.
- Check the flyer/tag supplied with the charger for the PRC.
- Enter the PRC:
- Input the PRC in the ‘Password Reset Code’ field.
Click ‘Ok’.
- Log in with the Default Password:
- After resetting, you can log in using the default password provided on the flyer.

- Change the Default Password:
- If desired, update the default password to a custom Owner Password for added security.
Additional Information:
- The PRC is supplied only on the flyer included with chargers produced after mid-December 2021.
- The Default Password can also be found on the flyer and is available via the webshop for the current registered owner.
Best Practices:
- Always store both the PRC and updated password securely to avoid operational issues.
- Ensure only authorized personnel have access to these credentials to maintain security.
