Installation check
This information gives information on how to perform a safety check on the installation.

At Alfen, safety is our top priority. We would like to emphasize electrical safety and proper installation to ensure our products serve you reliably and safely.

BEFORE START OF WORK
- Check the presence and proper functioning (use test button) of an RCD 30mA upstream in the electrical circuit to the EV (Electric Vehicle) charger (see checklist).
Important: In case the RCD is missing it is necessary that it must be installed before putting the charger under life voltage again.
- Switch-off power supply upstream and create a safe working environment for inspection/maintenance.
INSPECTION
- Check that the earthing wire going to the EV charger is connected to the central earthing point upstream (see checklist).
- Register serial number of charger.
- Remove cover and ensure that it is electrically safe inside (no voltage present).
- Check the complete charger (outside and inside) for damage and cleanness inside (see checklist).
Important: Ensure that the charger is safe for normal operation, if not, then first take the necessary actions before putting the installation under life voltage again.
- Check all wiring if this it still properly secured in terminals and cable lugs (see checklist).
- Carry out an insulation test on the Phase/Neutral wires to Earth (see checklist).
- Visually check the continuity of the earthing system from the terminal block to the outside of the socket and carry out a continuity test on the earth system (see checklist).
Important: Ensure that the electrical circuits are safe for normal operation, if not, then first take the necessary actions before putting the installation under life voltage again.
- Install the cover in his original position. Return to normal service operation (only if there are no open safety issue).
RETURN TO NORMAL SERVICE OPERATION (only if there are no open safety issues)
- Switch-on power supply upstream and check the correct functioning of the charger before leaving.
