Charging Session will start but is interrupted after a longer period
This troubleshooting page provides some hints to locate any reasons for charging to be interrupted after charging for some time.
Symptoms: The EV is charging, but after some time, the charging is interrupted.
Here are some possible explanations:
- Check if the EV battery is full (this would be a normal condition). You can also check the vehicle setting for charging profiles, especially ones that allow a battery to charge for a set maximum charge load.
- A specific app or application from the vehicle might be interfering and causing the session to stop.
- Load balancing might cause the session to be interrupted.
If possible, try lowering the socket maximum to a safe current value to turn off the active load balancing for a test session.
If the issue is gone, further inspection is required for the active load balancing part.
Check the Active Load balancing functionality.
- Heavy machinery might cause the session to be interrupted as well.
- The Charging cable could be the problem. Click here to learn about how to check the charging cable.
When none of the above solves the issue
When the issue can not be isolated, please check if a different vehicle could charge on the same chargers.
If the same issues appear, a service request should be considered for checking the Charge unit.
When the vehicle from the user could charge on public or other chargers without problems, keep in mind that local installation could also cause charge sessions to be interrupted. Also, we distinguish fast DC-chargers and slower AC-charger units. Both have a different Charge infrastructure.
Note: Some vehicles have specific installation requirements. Like a Renault Zoe which require the earth resistance in the installation to be lower than 100 ohms. |
