How to adjust the output (in kW) of the charging station

This article explains how to adjust the maximum output (current) of an EV charging station, either on-site using the ACE Service Installer or remotely through the back office.

By default the chargers are limited to a StationMax current of 16A. With an additional license, a StationMax current of 32A can be unlocked.
Please see 'How do I order extra feature licenses for a charging station?' in case an additional license is needed.

The maximum amperage of a charging station can be adjusted in two ways; on-site using the ACE Service Installer, or remotely via a back office system. Here are the step-by-step instructions for both:

On-site using the ACE Service Installer.
Use ACE Service Installer Setup (for NG platform).
This can be downloaded from our website.
Under "How do I receive login details for the ACE Service Installer configuration tool?" you can find information for requesting an account.

  1. Navigate to the 'Power settings' tab in the ACE Service Installer.

  2. Adjust the 'Station Max Current' by entering the desired maximum current (in amps).
Important: The value entered should not exceed the rating of the safety devices (circuit breaker or fuses) connected to the charging station.

  3. Go to the ‘Connector 1’ menu and adjust the ‘Max Current (A)' to the desired value (in amps).

  4. For charging stations with two connectors, repeat the process 'Connector 2' and adjust the 'Max Current (A)' accordingly.
  5. Click 'Save' to apply the changes.

Remote adjustments via a back office
Each back office system operates differently; below are the general instructions.

  1. Go to the 'Configuration' tab in the back office.

  2. Change the 'StationMaxCurrent' parameter to the desired maximum current (in amps).
Important: The value must not exceed the rating of the safety devices (circuit breakers or fuses) connected to the charging station.

  3. Adjust the 'Connector1MaxCurrent' parameter to the desired value (in amps).

  4. For charging stations with two connections, change the 'Connector2MaxCurrent' parameter as needed.

  5. Save the settings and/or push the updated configuration to the charging station.

Notice!
Always make sure the Station-MaxCurrent is never lower than the value of the Connector-MaxCurrent of both sockets. In that case, the power supply could be interrupted due to overload.
