How do I convert a charging station to a Plug & Charge authorization?
 
This page describes how a charger can be configured to charger without the need of a charge pass.
With Plug & Charge authorization, the charging station starts the transaction automatically as soon as a vehicle is connected, without the need of presenting a charge pass.
 
Due to updated interpretations of “identifiable transactions” Alfens’ Plug & Charge feature (no authentication) is no longer available on Eichrecht products.

 

You can configure this in two ways:
 
On site using the ACE Service Installer.
Use the Service Installer Setup, which can be downloaded from our downloadpage.
Under "How do I receive login details for the ACE Service Installer configuration tool?" you can find information on requesting an account.
 
  1. Go to the 'Authorization' tab in the ACE Service Installer.
     
  2. Select 'Authorization' in the menu on the left.
     
  3. Select the Authorization Mode 'Plug & Charge'.
     
  4. Enter the Plug and Charge ID. This must be a hexadecimal value (0-9, A-F). 
    This can be the object number of the charging station or an existing hidden ID from a charge pass.


     
  5. Press 'Save'
 
 
Remotely via a back office.
Via the back office, you need to configure the following parameters:
 

  1. The ‘Authorization Mode’ must be set to 'Plug & Charge'.

  2. The ‘Plug & Charge ID’ must be populated. This needs to be a hexadecimal value (0-9, A-F).
    This can be the object number of the charging station or an existing hidden ID from a charge pass.

 

Examples of Plug & Charge ID’s related to the chargers object ID:

12345R001A12345001‘R’ is not a hexadecimal and therefore not allowed.
Remove the ‘R’ and add ‘A’ as first digit

 

 

 
 
 
 
 
Notice!
The ‘Plug & Charge ID’ must be set as valid ID in the back office.
f not, the ID will be rejected and transactions cannot be started.
How this has to be done differs per the used backoffice.
