To calculate the cost to charge an electric vehicle from empty to full you can use the following formula:

Charging cost = Battery capacity (in kWh) X Electricity cost (per kWh)

Example:

When you charge at home you can find the cost of energy on your electric bill.

Let’s assume you have an electric vehicle with a battery capacity of 50 kWh and your electricity cost is Euro 0,81738 per kWh.

Then the cost to charge your electric vehicle from empty to full will be 50 x 0,81738 = Euro 40,87.

The only difference with a fossil fuel car is that this cost will be charged through your electric bill (when you charge at home).
