PDF's from tickets not opening
Overview
Recently we have been informed that some users are not able to open PDF's files that are attached to our ticket.
Date
We were informed on Monday October 20th 2025
Cause
There's a confirmed issue in Windows 11 after the latest October update that affects how PDF files are handled in File Explorer.
Users may notice that some PDFs no longer show a preview, and instead they get a warning saying the file could be harmful.
This is due to a change in how Windows treats files downloaded from the internet or received via email — even if they’re completely safe.
What you can do
If you trust the file, right-click it, go to Properties, and check the box that says “Unblock” at the bottom.
You can still open the file normally in Adobe Reader or another PDF viewer.
Microsoft hasn’t officially listed this as a bug yet, but it’s been confirmed by tech experts and user communities.
A fix is expected in a future update.

As mentioned above, the issue is within Windows 11 and outside of Alfen's influence.
