How to automatically get Backoffice presets in ACE Service Installer

Overview

The ACE Service Installer is designed to automatically pull configuration settings for the most commonly used backoffices each time you start the program. However, if the desired backoffice preset is not available, there are a few potential causes and solutions.

Steps to ensure automatic integration of the presets in ACE Service Installer:

  • Check for preset availability

    • The most commonly used backoffice presets should be available in the list. If it is not, proceed with the following steps.

  • Verify firewall settings

    • Ensure that the ACE Service Installer is not blocked by a firewall. The program needs full access to download the presets.

  • Confirm internet access

    • Make sure the laptop or computer you are using has internet access. Without it, the ACE Service Installer cannot receive the necessary files.

  • Start the ACE Service Installer

    • When you start the ACE Service Installer, a pop-up window should appear asking if you want to download backoffice presets to your computer. Click ‘Yes.'

  • Select the backoffice preset

    • Once the presets are downloaded, go to the ‘Connectivity’ tab in the ACE Service Installer and select the desired backoffice preset from the list.

  • Save and reboot

    • Click ‘Save’ and then reboot the charging station to apply the new settings.

  • Ensure the correct connection method

    • Depending on the installation, make sure the correct connection method is set. Verify that the backoffice has onboarded the charging station.

Troubleshooting tips

  • Firewall issues: If the ACE Service Installer is blocked by a firewall, adjust the firewall settings to allow full access to ftp://ftp.alfen.com/

  • Internet connectivity: Ensure that your device is connected to the internet before starting the ACE Service Installer.

  • Pop-up window: If the pop-up window does not appear, restart the ACE Service Installer and check your internet and firewall settings again.
