How can I change the logo on the display of the charging station via the back office?

This article explains how a personized logo can be uploaded from the backoffice to a charger on Alfen's NG-Platform.
To change the logo of the charging station you have to send an update file to the charging station via the backoffice.
The update file has to be created with the Ace Service Installer.
After creation of the update file (.fwu), you can upload the new firmware file through the firmware update mechanism, in your back office.
For instructions on how to do this, refer to 'How do I update the firmware on my charging station?'.

Creating the *.fwu file in the ACE Service Installer

  1. Connect a charging station that has a display and open the ACE Service Installer.
This may be any charging station with a display.

  2. Go to the 'Interface' tab.

  3. Click on 'Display' in the left menu.

  4. Click on 'Upload Image...'.

  5. Add the desired logo by selecting the correct file at 'Image file location'.

  6. Then click on 'Create Image Update File...'.
Note: Do NOT press ‘Start upload’ as this will update the logo on the charger your creating the logo on!

  7. Save the *.fwu file on your computer for future use.

This *.fwu file must then be sent by the back office to the charging station.
The instructions for uploading firmware files may vary depending on which back office you use.

The support for changing a display logo depends on the back office you are using.
The default protocol (OCPP) does not support uploading images (.jpg .png etc.) directly to the charging station.

In order to be able to change the logo on the display, you must have the "Personalized Display" feature unlocked.
